DESCRIPTION:This year’s summer camp out will take place in Lincoln at a lovely little camp site nestled in Hartsholme Country Park in Lincoln. The camp site is a located a 14 minute car drive or 38 min bus ride from the centre of Lincoln where you can enjoy the beautiful cathedral\, historic castle and quaint shops of Steep Hill or even the RAF Scampton heritage centre. \n\n\n\nThe camp site is small and fills up quickly so we would need to get all bookings in as soon as possible. Prices are as follows: \n\n\n\n\nCamper Van / Large Tent with electric – £21.50 per night\nTent – non electric £18.50 per night\nAwning – £3.00 per night\nDog – £1.00 per stay\n\n\n\n\nCamping pods are also available – these are empty but have electric heating and sleep 2 adults and 2 children £36.00 per night \n\n\n\nAnyone wishing to take part should contact Mark Forman (mjforman@hotmail.co.uk) by 21st June ’22.  \n\n\n\nA £25 deposit will secure your pitch and the rest is payable at the camp site.

DESCRIPTION:Club organised visit to Packwood House\nMeet at the Showcase Cinema\, at 10am.\nPackwood’s contemporary mingled style garden\, with herbaceous borders\, wildflower meadows and beautiful orchard is the perfect place to dream of carefree days. \nDuring the summer months the gardens at Packwood burst into life with tender perennials filling the borders and the magnificent purple headed alliums line the pathways leading up to the yew garden. The wildflower meadows\, full of cow slips\, irises and buttercups start to attract bumblebees and fluttering butterflies to the gardens and from late June come and see the roses take centre stage with colours ranging from blush pink to dark red.

DESCRIPTION:The historic VW meet at Hessisch Oldendorf\, Germany was originally scheduled to take place in late June 2021 but like so many events\, it has now been pushed back a year due to Covid-19 restrictions. \nThe Club has chosen to carry across its existing hotel bookings to the new date rather than simply cancel and being a further 12 months in the future\, this opens up the possibility of securing additional rooms.  So\, if you missed signing up for the trip the first time around\, there’s now a second opportunity to take part!  As well as attending the show itself\, several Club members are also going to extend their trip by three days and stay in or around Wolfsburg. \nIf you are interested in going along and for further details\, please contact Rob Loughrey at lwvwoc.chair@gmail.com.

DESCRIPTION:One of our most popular events\, the Club picnic is taking place on Sunday\, 12th June ’22 at the Market Bosworth Country Park (see below for directions). \nBeing a relaxed and informal outing\, there is no need to pre-book\, simply turn up on the day at 11:00am armed with a picnic lunch and camping chairs.  On arrival\, walk through the car park and you’ll find other Club members gathered on the grass. \nThere is a charge to use the car park\, up to a maximum of £5 for a stay of 3 hours or more\, with contactless payment machines in operation on the site. \nWe hope to see you there! \nDirections: \nMarket Bosworth Country Park is located in West Leicestershire\, 1 mile from the A447\, immediately to the east of Market Bosworth town.  The country park’s entrance and car park can be accessed from the B585 which leads into the market town (CV13 0LP).

DESCRIPTION:This is the big one\, Stanford Hall show day!  After being cancelled for the last two years due to Covid-19\, it’s fair to say that we are seriously looking forward to getting back to normal and having a great show. \nIf you’re not familiar with the show\, the Stanford Hall event is seen by many as the year’s premier classic Volkswagen show but still retains a relaxed family-friendly atmosphere. \nSince the first event in 1976\, the emphasis has always been on putting on a great display of classic unmodified Volkswagens of all types. We have always aimed to give great value for money\, whether it’s in the entry prices or the fees for the trade stands. \nIt takes place around the lake on the grounds of a 17th Century Country House in rural Leicestershire.

DESCRIPTION:Following its cancellation in 2021 due to Covid-19\, 2022 sees the return of our traditional New Year walk around Draycote Water (near Rugby\, CV23 8AB). \nAn ideal opportunity to catch up with everyone and also burn off some of those extra calories consumed over the festive period!  The path around the reservoir is tarmacked\, so no muddy boots involved! \nMeet at 10.30am prompt in the car park.  Car park fees at time of writing are £3 for two hours or £5 for the whole day. \nPlease note NO DOGS are allowed at Draycote Water.

SUMMARY:Hinckley Classic Motor Show - 2021
DESCRIPTION:The Club are planning once again on attending the Hinckley Classic Motorshow which\, fingers crossed\, takes place on Sunday\, 19th Sept ‘21. \nThis is a very informal show laid out in the streets of Hinckley town centre\, attended by many different types of classic vehicles.  There’s invariably other stuff taking place at the same time including children’s entertainment in the park and a 1940s wartime bar in one of the courtyards.  So\, all in all\, a good day out\, particularly as it’s free to enter! \nWe have managed to line up a dozen Beetles\, campers and buggies in previous years\, so it would be great to repeat the same or better this year.  The cruise into town alone makes for quite a spectacle\, as does parking up in the town centre! \nIf you’re interested in taking part\, please contact James McGeachie (lwvwoc.membership@gmail.com).

DESCRIPTION:“STANFORD HALL VW UPDATE” \nDue to the government postponement of all Covid-19 restrictions being lifted on June 21st\, the show organisers Leicestershire & Warwickshire VWOC\, have now moved the decision on whether the August 2021 show will take place to the week commencing 12th July 2021. \nIf\, on this date\, ALL restrictions associated with Covid-19 are removed from 19th July 2021\, the show WILL then go ahead as planned on Sunday 22nd August 2021.  ALL current bookings will of course be honoured.  We apologise for this further delay but feel sure all will understand our position. \nThe government’s intended decision on July 12th will be followed by a statement on the Stanford Hall Show and Club websites and also an announcement on the LWVWOC  Facebook pages. \nShow organising Committee of  LWVWOC. \n  \n

SUMMARY:Cancelled: New Year Walk - Draycote Water
DESCRIPTION:Cancelled due to the introduction of Tier 4 rules for the majority of members. \nOur traditional New Year walk around Draycote Water (near Rugby\, CV23 8AB).  An ideal opportunity to catch up with everyone and also burn off some of those extra calories consumed over the festive period!  The path around the reservoir is tarmacked\, so no muddy boots involved\, plus at 5 miles long we shouldn’t have any issue with social distancing! \nMeet at 10.30am prompt in the car park.  Car park fees at time of writing are £3 for two hours or £4 for the whole day. \nPlease note NO DOGS are allowed at Draycote Water.
