DESCRIPTION:“STANFORD HALL VW UPDATE” \nDue to the government postponement of all Covid-19 restrictions being lifted on June 21st\, the show organisers Leicestershire & Warwickshire VWOC\, have now moved the decision on whether the August 2021 show will take place to the week commencing 12th July 2021. \nIf\, on this date\, ALL restrictions associated with Covid-19 are removed from 19th July 2021\, the show WILL then go ahead as planned on Sunday 22nd August 2021.  ALL current bookings will of course be honoured.  We apologise for this further delay but feel sure all will understand our position. \nThe government’s intended decision on July 12th will be followed by a statement on the Stanford Hall Show and Club websites and also an announcement on the LWVWOC  Facebook pages. \nShow organising Committee of  LWVWOC. \n  \n

SUMMARY:Cancelled: New Year Walk - Draycote Water
DESCRIPTION:Cancelled due to the introduction of Tier 4 rules for the majority of members. \nOur traditional New Year walk around Draycote Water (near Rugby\, CV23 8AB).  An ideal opportunity to catch up with everyone and also burn off some of those extra calories consumed over the festive period!  The path around the reservoir is tarmacked\, so no muddy boots involved\, plus at 5 miles long we shouldn’t have any issue with social distancing! \nMeet at 10.30am prompt in the car park.  Car park fees at time of writing are £3 for two hours or £4 for the whole day. \nPlease note NO DOGS are allowed at Draycote Water.

SUMMARY:Annual General Meeting (Zoom Event) - 2020
DESCRIPTION:We had intended to hold this year’s AGM at the Wycliffe Rooms in Lutterworth\, following on from the success of last year’s event at the same venue.  However\, in view of the present Covid-19 situation failing to improve\, we have decided that the AGM will now be a virtual event held via Zoom. \nWhilst a physical meeting is always our preference\, this provides everyone with the opportunity to participate without an increased risk of exposure to the virus.  Details for the meeting can be obtained by contacting Pat Screaton (details below).  Both a meeting ID and a passcode have been put in place for increased security and James McGeachie\, our Membership Secretary\, will also be screening participants on the day to ensure they are members before admitting them to the meeting\, thus preventing any uninvited guests from joining the AGM. \nFor those unfamiliar with Zoom\, it is quite easy to use.  You can download the Zoom app free of charge to your mobile phone\, tablet or computer.  On the day\, simply copy the link into your web browser or app\, entering the meeting ID and passcode when prompted. \nWhere email addresses are known\, members will also receive an email containing a repeat of the meeting details ahead of the day itself.  The AGM will start promptly at 2:30pm\, with people able to log into Zoom from 2:00pm onwards to allow everyone to join in plenty of time and if necessary\, iron out any last-minute technical wrinkles.  If you do experience any issues or have any questions\, James will be on hand to help where possible. \nIf you do intend to join us\, please let me Pat Screaton know via email on patriciascreaton@gmail.com.

SUMMARY:Cancelled: Lavenham Vintage Volkswagen Meeting
DESCRIPTION:CANCELLED FOR 2020 \nDue to Covid-19 social distancing restrictions\, the organisers of the Lavenham Vintage Volkswage show have taken the difficult decision to cancel the event for this year.  The show has now been rescheduled for 17-19 June 2022. \n\n\n\nThe International Vintage Volkswagen Meeting at Lavenham takes place every 4 years and features only stock\, unmodified or period correct pre-August 1967 Vintage Volkswagens. The vehicles are displayed in a fantastic setting surrounded by many timbered buildings\, including the famous Guild Hall. \n\n\n \nEntrance to the Meeting for spectators is free and it will be a chance to see many of the best early Volkswagens from across the UK and Europe. \n\n\n \nThe main show day is Saturday 12 September 2020 but the Club is planning on making a weekend of it\, travelling down on Friday and returning on Sunday\, staying at the Premier Inn Ipswich North. \n\n\n \nIf you would like to attend please contact Rob Loughrey by Tuesday 7 April. A £20 deposit per room will be needed by that date please with cheques payable to the club or BACS payment into the club account. \n\n\n\n

DESCRIPTION:Stanford Hall 2020 – Cancellation \nAfter much deliberation and careful consideration the Leicestershire and Warwickshire VWOC\, organisers of the Stanford Hall Volkswagen show\, have decided they have little alternative but to cancel the rescheduled August 16th 2020 event.  We are now planning for the 2021 show on Sunday 2nd May 2021\, which will be the 45th year for the show.  It has become clear that even though there have been improvements in the Corona Virus epidemic\, together with the current revised restrictions it’s still not possible for us to run an event that would be recognisable as the Stanford Hall VW show and\, in fact\, would currently be an illegal gathering. We also do not foresee there being sufficient further improvements and relaxations by the revised show date and therefore sadly feel we are unable to run. We understand that this may come as a disappointment but trust you will understand the predicament we find ourselves in. Please be assured that the safety of our visitors and guests has been our number one consideration in making this decision. \nAnyone who has a booking with us already\, will be able to leave this in place and continue to use the 2020 passes for the 2021 show despite the date change. There will be no increases in fees associated with existing bookings. \nHowever if you can’t make the 2021 show or simply require a refund\, please contact the email or postal address you made your booking with and request a full refund\, also please return your 2020 pass by post. Please allow 28 days to receive your refund before contacting us again. Your patience and understanding are appreciated. \nWe will of course continue to accept bookings but these will now be for Sunday 2nd May 2021. All conditions and rules for 2021 will be identical to those of 2020. The website will undergo a makeover during the summer to reflect the 2021 show with revised dates and booking forms appearing in due course. Camping dates for 2021 will be Saturday 1st\, Sunday 2nd May with all campers to leave before 6.00pm on Monday 3rd May. \nThanks for your support and understanding.
